Breads from Rina's Kitchen


Sausage Cornbread Bake 
Makes 1-10 inch loaf

1 pound ground sausage meat
1 medium onion, chopped
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups buttermilk cornmeal mix
1 (17 ounce) can creamed-style corn
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup milk
                   
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease a 10" ovenproof skillet. 
2. In a med skillet, brown the sausage and onion; drain well. 
3. In a large bowl, combine eggs, corn meal mix, corn, milk, and
   oil. Pour half of corn meal mixture into the greased pan, and
   sprinkle with sausage mixture and cheese. Pour remaining batter
   over top. 
4. Bake for 30-40 mins. Let stand 10 mins before serving.
