Almond Cookies 
Makes 4 dozen

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup ground almonds
2 teaspoons Amaretto
                   
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. 
2. In large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in the egg,
   amaretto and almonds. Slowly stir in the flour. Mix until
   well blended. 
3. Drop by tsps 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 5-8
   mins, until cookies are lightly colored. Let cool on wire racks.
