Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookie Frosting 
Makes 3 dozen 

1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
                  
1. In double boiler, over boiling water, cook the milk, butter,
   chocolate and salt until thick. 
2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and confectioner's
   sugar until of spreading consistency. Spread on Chocolate
   Covered Cherry Cookies.
