Chocolate Macaroons 
Makes 3 dozen

3 eggs
1 pinch salt
3/4 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 1/4 cups shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, chopped fine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
                   
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets. 
2. Melt chocolate over low heat and let cool. 
3. Separate eggs and beat whites until foamy. Slowly add salt
   and sugar a little at a time, until mixture stands in peaks. Add
   in vanilla. 
4. Fold in chocolate, coconut and nuts. Stir until just blended. 
5. Drop by tsps about 2" apart on cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 mins.
